can anyone shed any light on a recall on the rsv4r i bought one in december and have only covered 115 miles when the dealer contacted me and said not to ride it as there is a major engine problem apparently only 77 bikes worldwide are affected but aprilia are not forthcoming as to why the engine needs replacing

    Hi Mike
Possibly a bit late as you could know the score by now but as a fellow UK owner of the RSV4R, I had the recall. It is not a 100% certain that you will need an engine swap. They are recalling so that dealers can inspect the Conrod Big End ID markings. If anyone of the 4 Conrods have the Letter which signifies the ones from the faulty batch, then a New Engine will be installed, no messing with stripping an engine and fitting replacement parts. The whole inspection takes just over half a day. Mine checked out OK. Good Luck. Oh! Beowulf now do a nice GP Style Can and connector for this bike plus Rad and Oil Cooler Covers, brilliant.
